Ed Spankie : An exceptionally young 50 year old, married with 3 active daughters, living in Manorbier, Pembrokeshire since 1989. Managing Director of Consort Equipment Products in Milford Haven. Only took up cycling 2 years ago to take advantage of sights and scenery of beautiful West Wales. As usual the challenge of going one step further took over and have so far completed the London to Paris Cycle Ride for the British Legion and the Coast to Coast ride (Whitehaven to Tynemouth) Inspiration for the Lands End to John o’Groats ride came from an Uncle who completed the ride a few years ago at age 70! So I decided that I would not leave it that long. MacMillan is an important Charity to me as I have known many people who have benefited from their excellent care. Our aim is to complete the ride for our own satisfaction but with the added challenge of raising monies to help fund six new MacMillan Cancer Specialists here in South and West Wales.

Richard Harrison: Married, and I can boast of having 2 fantastic Grandchildren (who think I am completely mad!) Linzi my wife has plenty of practice in coping with me as she is an Assistant Headmistress at an Infant School! Born in Birmingham, came to Tenby in 1972 and don’t want to leave. Occupy myself in a job that is tailored made for me within the Marshall Group – selling to the Seaside Leisure Industry along the holiday coasts from Cardigan to Cardiff! Life is a challenge and I have lost members of my family to Cancer including both my Mother and Mother in Law, so I appreciate the value of the MacMillan Nurses. This challenge is to complete the ride within the time and to raise as much money as possible for the MacMillan cause in South and West Wales. And yes – the photos will still be there with me.
